TIKI BEACH LIFEGUARD JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of the Waterfront Director, Lifeguards ensure the safety and satisfaction of Sunset Tiki Bar & Grill patrons and/or beach participants by enforcing the policies and procedures of the Waterfront of the Sunset Tiki Bar & Grill.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Safeguard patrons and other persons using the waterfront swimming area or playground. Rescue swimmers in distress and administer CPR and/or AED as required. Enforce the rules and regulations relating to swimming activities at the waterfront. Complete Daily opening and Closing tasks as directed by Head Lifeguard or Waterfront Director and report any safety problems. Checking floating rafts for safety by inspecting for loose ladder hardware and exposed deck nails and report any objects found to the Head Lifeguard or Waterfront Director. Check water for debris (ex. Cups, Fish hooks & line, glass) as directed by Head Lifeguard or Waterfront Director Perform basic swim test for flotation and movement in order for patrons to swim in the deep area and report any problems to Head Lifeguard for assistance. Use Time Clock system for daily time recording.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

Principles, practices and application of lifesaving and first aid techniques. Swimming techniques and methods. General rules and regulations pertaining to waterfront use.

Ability to:

Adhere to NVSA core values and principles while maintaining a positive image of the organization to members of the community. Follow written and oral instructions. Maintain CPR, AED, and Lifeguard/First Aid certifications. Enforce swimming rules and regulations while maintaining a safe and secure environment at all times. Recognize and mitigate potential hazards and risks. Act quickly and calmly in emergencies.
