Full Job Description Position Summary:

The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of pool users by monitoring activities, enforcing safety regulations, and responding to emergencies. This role involves maintaining a safe, clean pool environment, conducting routine inspections, and assisting with maintenance tasks. Lifeguards must also provide excellent customer service to members and guests while remaining vigilant and prepared to act in emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Pool Surveillance and Safety Monitoring:

Monitor pool activities and enforce all safety regulations to prevent accidents. Conduct routine surveillance of the pool area to ensure a safe and clean environment. Watch for signs of distress, unsafe behavior, or violations of pool rules and respond promptly.

Emergency Response:

Respond quickly and effectively to poolside emergencies, including water rescues and accidents. Administer first aid, CPR, or other emergency medical treatments as needed.

Pool Equipment and Facility Inspections:

Conduct regular inspections of pool equipment and facilities to ensure they are in proper working order. Report any hazards or maintenance needs to the supervisor.

Pool Maintenance Assistance:

Assist with routine pool maintenance tasks, including cleaning the pool area and performing chemical testing as required. Ensure that pool toys and accessories are properly stored and that the pool area is free of debris.

Member and Guest Interaction:

Interact professionally and courteously with members and guests, providing excellent customer service. Answer questions, provide information, and offer assistance when needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

Certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid (or willing to obtain). Strong attention to detail and ability to remain alert at all times. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergencies. Basic understanding of pool maintenance and safety procedures.

Working Hours:

Flexible schedule based on pool operating hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
