About us: Burlington Aquatics offers many opportunities for the community to be involved in all types of swimming programs. There is a program for everyone!
What you will do:
This position is a part-time head lifeguard position for the City of Burlington Recreation Department. This person will report to the Aquatics Director. The successful candidate will perform all the duties of the full-time lifeguard and will be the person responsible for the facility when on duty and the Aquatics Director is not present. Strong swimming and safety skills are required, and must take part in in-service training programs to improve lifeguarding skills.Pool Safety and Supervision:
Vigilantly guard the pool, ensuring the safety of all swimmers and responding swiftly to any emergencies. Oversee and manage the activities of part-time lifeguards during shifts, ensuring a coordinated and effective team approach.Facility Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and order in and around the pool area, including regular cleaning and sanitizing to ensure a safe environment.Customer Service Excellence:
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting pool guests, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a positive experience.Leadership and Closing Operations:
Supervise evening staff, ensuring all duties are completed and the pool area is properly closed according to safety protocols. Manage and oversee the closing procedures, ensuring that all necessary tasks are performed efficiently and safely.Additional Responsibilities:
Provide instructional support in various aquatic programs as needed, contributing to the educational and recreational experience of participants. Perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the aquatic facility.Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 19 years of age or older to apply. Proof of completion of American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Health Care Provider is required.Preferred Qualifications:
