Lifeguard and Swim Instructor

Swim Instructor (Private & Small Group Lessons) We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our growing aquatic team. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about teaching, safety, and helping swimmers of all ages build confidence in the water. Responsibilities Provide high-quality swim instruction to students ages 3 through adult Create a positive, patient, and encouraging learning environment Follow established lesson plans while adapting to individual swimmer needs Maintain a strong focus on water safety and skill progression Work collaboratively with other instructors and staff as part of a team Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and clear communication with families Swim Instructor Requirements Minimum swim competency: Instructors must be proficient swimmers capable of demonstrating all skills taught in their assigned lesson levels Preferred certification: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Also accepted: Tall Pines Swim Instructor Certification, Bear Paddle Swim Instructor Certification Red Cross alignment: All instruction must be delivered in alignment with Red Cross progression guidelines, regardless of certifying body

Experience:

Prior experience teaching swimmers of the assigned age group is strongly preferred; new instructors without experience must complete the full shadowing process before independent teaching Lifeguard Requirements Required certification: American Red Cross Lifeguarding (preferred); Tall Pines or equivalent accepted Compensation Starting pay: $25 per hour for private instruction $17 per hour for life guards Competitive pay with opportunities for growth based on experience and availabilityIf you enjoy working with people, value safety and skill development, and want to be part of a supportive aquatic program, we'd love to hear from you.
