The applicant should have previous lifeguard experience. Relate with and provide prompt, courteous service to pool guests, both in person and on the telephone. Inform guests of facilities and services provided within the hotel. Maintain proper licensing and training to perform job duties. Maintain a safe and clean environment. Ensure proper rules and procedures are followed to ensure safety of guests. Remain alert and responsive at all times. This role is highly visible and interacts with sponsors, vendors, clients, and GSR Management. Leads by example at all times and provides the highest level of customer service to all guests, vendors and clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions and offer assistance to provide guest satisfaction. Relay accurate information to guests regarding hours of operation, Hotel services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc. Rescue and/or give first aid or CPR to accident victims or help fellow lifeguard provide care. Enforce all facility rules and regulations. Prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergency situations. Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Analytical skills needed to establish pulse and/or breathing. Be able to determine when and if CPR or mouth to mouth resuscitation should be utilized. Determine if injuries are life threatening or require administration of first aid. Knowledge and skills needed to properly operate a backboard, neck brace, life ring, telescoping hook, first aid kit, etc. in emergency situations. Remain alert throughout the duration of the shift and remain calm during emergency situations. Effectively deal with guest complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. Ability of simple reading and task completion skills is required.
Must have the following skills:
coordination, analyzing, instructing, precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making. Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate. Must be a minimum of 16 years of age. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Previous lifeguard experience or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly sitting, standing, walking, reaching overhead, and occasionally bending over, crouching, kneeling, and balancing during the duration of their shift. Dependent on the shift, team member must be able to lift/carry and push/pull up to 10lbs or less frequently or up to 100lbs occasionally. The team member will constantly have repetitive use of both feet. Team member will frequently have repetitive use of both hands and light grasping motions. Team member will have occasional use of firm/strong grasping motion. Finger dexterity of both hands will be frequently required. Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work performed outdoors, alone and frequently with and around others. Team Member will perform work face-to-face including verbal contact with others on extended shifts around other mechanical devices. Team Member may be around flame/heat generated devices. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Team Member may be exposed to extreme heat/cold, wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, slippery surfaces, moving objects, high places, dirt/dust, fumes/odor and/or secondhand smoke.
