Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Swim Coach / Lifeguard to join our vibrant team and assist with our summer camp program. This paid position combines vital safety responsibilities with coaching duties to promote swimming skills, water safety, and sportsmanship among members and guests of all ages. If you have a passion for teaching, sports, and ensuring a safe aquatic environment, this role is perfect for you! Duties and Qualifications Monitor pool areas continuously to ensure the safety of all swimmers and guests Provide lifeguard services, including rescue and first aid when necessary Lead swimming lessons for children and adults to improve skills and confidence in the water Assist with organizing swim meets, training sessions, and recreational programs Use the Swimmingly app to schedule swimmers at competitive swim meets Assist Head Swim Coach in evaluating and training youth swimmers Currently hold or able to get a Nassau County Class II or IA Lifeguard license prior to June 10. Hold a current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification or similar Experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education is highly desirable Background in swimming, martial arts (such as Karate or Judo), cheerleading, climbing, or gymnastics is a plus Familiarity with behavior management techniques for working with children and students Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse age groups in a safety-conscious manner Join us to make a splash!
