Job Description

Waterfront Lifeguard - Residential Camp (Seasonal) Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc. Rock Hill Camp | Seasonal, Full-Time | $3,175 - $3,575 Position Summary To assist the Waterfront Director in organizing and administering activities at the waterfront and pool in accordance with standards set by Girl Scouts of the USA, the American Camp Association, and the New York State Department of Health. Key Functions & Responsibilities Carry out assigned waterfront activities Participate in special waterfront events Assist with swim lessons as directed by the Waterfront Director and/or WSI Manager Enforce water safety measures at the waterfront Assist in the care and maintenance of waterfront equipment, facilities, and supplies Report any needed repairs to the Waterfront Director Participate in in-service trainings with other lifeguards and the Waterfront Director Maintain required records and reports Participate in general camp activities This position description does not state or imply that the responsibilities listed are the only duties to be performed. The individual in this role may be required to perform other duties as necessitated by the situation or requested by their supervisor. Qualifications Successful completion of a background check Must be at least 17 years old Current high school student or high school diploma required Current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Waterfront Lifeguard Current certification in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to stand for long periods Capable of lifting and carrying items over 15 lbs Proficient in navigating rough terrain Comfortable being physically active for extended durations About Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc.
