The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching water safety, building foundational swim skills, and creating a structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community while promoting confidence and lifelong swim skills. Locations Harlem, NY Queens, NY Long Island, NY How to Apply Please apply online here: https://www.blackpeoplewillswim.com/jobs Responsibilities Conduct swimming lessons for individuals and groups across various age ranges and skill levels Arrive instructor-ready with uniform, lesson plans, and necessary materials Maintain accurate attendance records and track student progress Teach swimming techniques, stroke development, and water safety skills Instruct according to American Red Cross Develop lesson plans that support progressive skill advancement Identify and correct improper swimming techniques Enforce pool rules and maintain vigilant supervision to ensure safety Maintain positive, professional relationships with participants, families, and staff Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area before and after lessons Requirements Minimum 1 year of swim instruction experience preferred CPR, First Aid, and WSI (American Red Cross or YMCA) certification preferred Strong swimming ability and knowledge of proper technique Understanding of water safety protocols and structured teaching methods Strong communication and behavior management skills Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Ability to work in an aquatic environment while maintaining high safety standards All applicants will undergo a mandatory background check.
