Job Description

Buckley Day Camp is looking for the right individual to join our staff as a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor. Must be American Red Cross certified and have current Nassau County Lifeguard Certification-Current CPR Certification from a Nassau County Dept. of Health recognized provider. Lifeguards spend part of their day instructing campers in the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program and part of the day guarding one of 4 outdoor pools or our pond. Aquatics staff are expected to work the 39 days of camp (Monday June 29th -- Friday, August 21st (closed July 3rd) from 8:30am - 4:15pm daily. The aquatic staff is also required to attend our pre camp trainings in June (aprox 4). Buckley Day Camp, located in Roslyn, NY, offers a traditional camp experience for tots through teens. Located on a beautiful, expansive 25-acre property with 4 outdoor swimming pools and 3 tennis courts among many other outdoor attractions and as well as a state of the art indoor, air-conditioned facility that includes 3 gymnasiums. For more information or to apply go to www.buckleycamp.com Responsibilities Monitor pool activities to ensure the safety of all participants and enforce rules and regulations. Provide swimming instruction to campers of varying skill levels, adapting techniques as necessary. Administer first aid and CPR when required, maintaining certification and training. Conduct regular pool maintenance and cleaning to ensure a safe swimming environment.
