Outdoor Lifeguard

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady is looking for Lifeguards for the summer season to help oversee the outdoor pools in Schenectady. The summer season runs, June 22nd 2026 till Aug 23rd 2026. Pools are open 7 days a week.

• Mandatory training required prior to summer season.

Positions:

Head Lifeguard with WSI

• $20/hr Headguard
• $19 Lifeguard with WSI
• $18 Lifeguard
• $17

Primary Responsibilities:

Identify potential accidents/hazards. Be alert or prevent accidents (risk management) Implement and enforce all health and safety procedures at pool Administer first aid and/or CPR as required General life guard duties, maintenance of pool and pool area.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Facilitate public relations in a positive and professional manner Be available to substitute for other staff members Attend all weekly in-service trainings

Qualifications:

Must be at least 15 years of age. Must be a proficient/strong swimmer Physically able. Current valid lifeguard certification. Current C.P.R., First Aid and AED certification.

• Organization does offer Lifeguard Course (Must be 15 years old) and Recertification courses for both lifeguard and CPR.
