Job Description

Position Ocean Lifeguard Job Summary (Essential Functions) Implement all water safety policies and procedures. Supervise members and guests in and around the ocean. Job Tasks (Additional Responsibilities) Always supervises and observes swimmers to ensure their safety. Administers care for swimmers and report any rescues or injuries to the Ocean Director. Assists in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons from members as directed by the Ocean Director and instructors. Enforces rules and code of conduct. Checks first aid supplies and reports needed items. Takes Ocean Temperatures, conditions, tides, weather, and reports information to the office. Raises the American flag, and appropriate ocean flag. Helps Beach attendant when needed if not interfering with lifeguard duties. Sets up beach and rescue equipment to looks neat and professional and according to county code regulation including putting out perimeter flag. Returns these and all swimming aids to the lifeguard shack at the end of the day. Ensure the beach and workspace are clean and always organized. Makes sure snow fence is maintained. Keeps lifeguard shack clean and organized. Maintains all necessary records determined by the Ocean Director. Attends all meetings as directed by the Ocean Director. Inform Lifeguard Manager about unresolved member or guest disruptions that could cause a safety problem. Fills in for Pool Lifeguard when needed. Be able to lift 20 pounds or more. Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by Ocean Director. Report to Ocean & Pool Director and Head Lifeguard
