Join the Bryn Mawr College team as a Lifeguard for Summer 2026 and play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable aquatic environment. The Bryn Mawr pool serves a diverse community including residents, youth programs, educational groups, sports camps, and campus recreation, making this a dynamic and community-centered role. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and customer service, ensuring patrons have a positive experience. This position reports to the Director of Athletics, Physical Education, and Wellness, as well as the Aquatics Director. About the

Located less than 15 miles from Philadelphia, and within 2-3 hours of New York City, Baltimore, and Washington, DC, Bryn Mawr's location offers easy access to public transportation and endless recreation, dining, retail, and cultural activities.
Schedule & Compensation:
This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal position, for Summer 2026, working approximately 15-20 hours per week. Shift includes morning and afternoon availability, as determined by the Athletics Department. Compensation ranges from $17
  • 20 per hour, depending on experience.
Characteristic Responsibilities:
Provide constant surveillance and care for the pool and pool area. Enforce pool rules in a consistent manner. Ensure guest safety by supervising swimming, identifying and mitigating potential hazards, enforcing rules, and conducting emergency rescues. Handle conflict with courtesy and fairness. Respond quickly and in accordance with established emergency and accident management procedures. Administer first aid and CPR as required. May perform other duties as assigned. Attend scheduled in-service trainings. Ensure cleanliness of the facility (pool deck and pool area). Monitor chemical levels (training provided). Communicate with lifeguards, Aquatic Director, and members of the campus community.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent. Lifeguard Certification by a recognized source of training (i.e. Red Cross). CPR Certification by a recognized source of training (i.e. Red Cross, American Heart Association). Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality. Initiative to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Strong customer service skills. Dependable transportation to and from work. Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to lift pool equipment, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in warm, humid environments. Ability to understand and follow applicable laws, College policies, and employment regulations, including NCAA and Centennial Conference regulations.
