CPR Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are looking for a responsible, alert, and proactive individual to join our team as a Pool Lifeguard. The lifeguard's primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of all swimmers, enforce pool rules, and provide assistance in case of emergencies. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and enjoyable swimming environment for all pool-goers.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor the pool area to ensure the safety of all swimmers. Enforce pool rules and regulations to prevent accidents or injuries. Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies, including performing first aid or CPR if necessary. Provide assistance to swimmers in distress and help with water rescues when required. Maintain awareness of pool conditions and report any hazards or unsafe conditions to management immediately. Conduct regular safety checks of the pool area, including verifying water quality and ensuring proper functioning of pool equipment. Offer guidance and assistance to pool-goers, including answering questions or providing instructions on pool rules and safety. Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and any first aid treatments given. Assist with pool maintenance tasks, such as cleaning poolside areas and ensuring the pool is clear of debris. Attend training sessions and drills as required to keep certifications up to date and to stay prepared for emergency situations. Work closely with other lifeguards and facility staff to maintain a safe and efficient pool environment.
Qualifications:
Certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR (required). Must be current and valid. Previous experience as a lifeguard or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Strong swimming skills and the ability to perform rescues in the water. Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful or emergency situations. Good communication skills and the ability to interact with people of all ages. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical fitness to meet the demands of the job (standing for long periods, lifting, swimming, etc.). Strong attention to detail and an ability to spot potential hazards. Knowledge of pool safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to swim, dive, and perform water rescues. Ability to lift and carry objects such as rescue equipment or injured individuals (up to 50 lbs). Ability to stand or remain alert in a pool setting for long periods.
Work Environment:
The lifeguard will primarily work in an outdoor or indoor pool setting. Exposure to water, sun, and varying weather conditions may occur.
