AM Position Summary:
Applicants must be Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid Certified (WE
CAN CERTIFY YOU!
) . Applicants should be friendly, upbeat and outgoing while providing superior customer service. The primary responsibility of the lifeguard is to ensure guest safety and protect lives. Lifeguards must also be able to provide superior guest service to guests as a swim lesson instructor and pool shop attendant. The majority of responsibilities will be in the pool area guarding the pool, assisting guests, answering questions regarding recreation activities, general pool maintenance and keeping the pool area clean. The workweek will average 35 - 45 hours.
Pay Rate:
The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort's actual rate of pay for this position is $15.58 per hour.
Qualifications:
Minimum 16 years of age. Must be Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid Certified. KIGR can assist with arranging certification testing, however pre-certified candidates are preferred. Employees are eligible for cost compensation for their required lifeguard course at the end of work term. Team-oriented mentality Excellent communication skills
Expectations & Responsibilities:
Lifeguards play a vital role in the safety of the guests and their experience at all resort pools - their primary responsibility is to ensure guest safety and protect lives. Lifeguards should have a confident and positive attitude while enforcing resort rules, and understand that their job is to prevent accidents from happening. Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility. Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Ensure guests are aware of all services and activities available at the pool. All other duties, as assigned.
Essential Physical Requirements:
Strong swimming ability Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs or more (e.g., rescue equipment or individuals) Stamina to remain alert and active for extended periods in heat, sun, and outdoor conditions Quick reflexes and physical agility for responding rapidly to emergencies on land and in water
