Job Description:

General:

To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all members and guests of the Christian Brothers University community engaging in pool use.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To ensure the safety of yourself and co-workers. To ensure the safety of all patrons using the pool during hours of operation, recreation events, and special functions. Must attend staff training and meetings. Thoroughly perform all opening, closing, and maintenance duties at the pool as well as all other duties assigned. Perform a visual check to ensure that all safety and swimming equipment is in place. Be customer service focused and assist with programs and personnel. Keep pool deck clean Immediately alert the VP for Student Affairs of all maintenance and repair needs. Execute emergency procedures when necessary. Provide reports and complete checklists as needed. Immediately alert Campus Police and Safety regarding any issues or emergencies. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Job Requirements Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification. Must have current American Red Cross CPR, AED and First Aid certifications. Must possess effective communication skills. Must have good customer service skills. Must be aware of the student/member needs. Must be willing to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Previous life guarding experience is preferred. WSI certification is preferred.
