Full Job Description Description:
Anderson Mill Limited District is currently seeking qualified applicants for year-round, part-time, lifeguarding positions at the Anderson Mill and El Salido Pool. The Certified Lifeguard is responsible for practicing preventative lifeguarding and maintaining safety standards to ensure patrons have a safe and enjoyable aquatics experience. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies. Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, occasional holidays, and evening hours.Requirements:
Lifeguard Certification Requirements AMLD requires all lifeguards to hold a valid lifeguarding certification prior to their first day of employment.Essential Job Functions and Duties:
Perform lifeguarding duties, including active surveillance and rescues. Clean pool decks, equipment, and surrounding areas as needed. Enforce facility rules and safety regulations to ensure patron compliance. Actively attend and participate in required staff training and in-service drills. Assist patrons with proper lifejacket fitting and safety equipment. Conduct swim tests to assess patrons' swimming abilities. Interact tactfully and courteously with the AMLD residents and the general public. Complete all other duties as assigned by management. Handle cash transactions and follow proper financial procedures. Participate in community events as needed. Basic maintenance, equipment care, and chemical pool testing may be required during the shift.Job Requirements:
Current Lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid Certification (Red Cross preferred). Previous lifeguarding experience Must be able to swim 200 yards of front crawl or breaststroke without stopping. Experience working with the public, especially in customer service. Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in high-pressure situations. Ability to successfully use conflict resolution skills. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback. Candidates must be 16 years old or older to apply. Candidate must pass a drug test before an offer of employment is extended. If over 18, the candidate must pass a drug and background check before an offer of employment is extended. Ability to speak and write English clearly and understandably. This position requires a commitment to safety and facility maintenance to ensure smooth and efficient pool operations and the best possible patron experience.Preferred Experience & Education:
High School diploma or equivalent completed or in progress.Employee Benefits:

The physical demands include, but are not limited to, frequent requirements to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate objects. The employee may be required to lift upwards of 50 lbs. The employee must be able to perform the functions of a lifeguard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition to vision requirements, the candidate must have hearing capacity that allows them to communicate effectively with others and hear emergency alerts and situations. Working conditions include extended periods of time outdoors in extreme temperatures.Equal Opportunity Employer:
