Beaumont ISD Memorial Stadium

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers by preventing and responding to emergencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

Certified lifeguard

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques An understanding of facility rules, policies and procedures Decision-making skills

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITEIS AND DUTIES

Recognize and respond quickly and effectively in emergencies Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations Complete records and reports Participate in regular in-service training sessions Maintain fitness level (swimming skills, strength and endurance). Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Environmental Demands May be exposed to a high humidity and 86-degree temperatures indoors and outdoors will be exposed to the varying weather conditions, which could include cold, rain, and extreme heat.
