PURPOSE STATEMENT

​ Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all people in and around the facility's swimming pool. May 2026 - August 2026. Flexible schedule - Full time or Part time ​

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

​ Prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors in and around the pool. ​ Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies. ​ Administer first aid and CPR, including using an AED and if trained, administer emergency oxygen when needed. ​ Rescue distressed swimmers when necessary. ​ Enforce the pool rules in an appropriate , fair and equitable manner and explain the rationale for the rule(s) when needed. ​ Assist people as needed, but without compromising the safety of others using the facility. ​ May p erform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe pool . ​ Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority. ​

OTHER FUNCTIONS

​ Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. ​

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

​ High school diploma or equivalent required. ​ One or more years' previous lifeguard experience required . ​

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS

​ Must have Lifeguard Certification from an accredited organization. ​ CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required. ​ First aid may be required based on state or facility.
