Open Until Filled Employment Opportunity Lifeguard (ages 15+): Summer position starting as early as May 1. Responsible for monitoring the swimming pools at the Orem Fitness Center and Scera Park Pools. Assisting or rescuing patrons in need of help and performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or administering first aid as necessary. Enforces pool rules and performs pool maintenance and custodial duties. Conducts and participates in safety and accident prevention programs. Provides instruction to participants in beginning to advanced swimming techniques and skills. Keeps records, prepares written reports, assists with special events and swim meets. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must possess and maintain a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate with current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (City is willing to provide free certification based on passing minimum skills requirement). Lifeguards must have the ability to communicate with people of all ages. Applicants must be in compliance with Recreation Department dress, personal appearance policy. Pay and Benefits Pay starts at $13.00/hr Schedule Flexible scheduling, with shifts ranging between 5am-10pm. Application Process Those interested in applying should submit their application online.
