Lifeguard Responsibilities include:

Ensure the safety of swimmers and guests by enforcing the rules and procedures of the Lake Union Swim Academy. Keeping the pool area clean and organized. Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies in the aquatics area. Administer CPR, AED, and first aid as needed. Complete incident and accident reports as required. Participate and help lead in monthly staff meetings and training programs. Assist swimmers with lesson registration and check-in at the front desk. Respond to questions or situations in person or over the phone. Maintains logs and records of pool chemicals.

Our ideal candidate:

Holds current lifeguard certification with the American Red Cross. Canidates without a current Red Cross certification will not be considered. Competitive swim experience of at least one year. Head lifeguard or supervisor experience of at least one year. Has the ability to swim 200 yards, tread water for two minutes, and retrieve a 10-pound weight from 8 feet down. Able to work year-round in our indoor facility. An effective communicator with staff and members both in person, on the phone, and by email. At least 18 years of age. Available Shifts Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm starting in May. Weekday evenings and weekend morning and afternoon shifts as needed.
