Job Description
Overview Join our vibrant aquatic team as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor, where your energy and dedication will ensure a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming environment for all pool visitors. In this dynamic role, you'll combine lifesaving skills with teaching expertise to promote water safety and swimming proficiency. Whether you're overseeing pool safety, assisting guests, or leading engaging swim lessons, your proactive approach will make a positive impact on our community. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills while fostering a love of swimming and water safety. Responsibilities Vigilantly monitor pool areas to prevent accidents and respond swiftly to emergencies using established rescue techniques. Enforce safety rules and pool policies to maintain a secure environment for swimmers of all ages. Conduct regular pool maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, skimming debris, and ensuring water quality meets health standards. Provide engaging swim instruction tailored to various skill levels, encouraging confidence and progress in learners. Assist with guest services by answering questions, providing directions, and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors. Perform routine pool cleaning duties including scrubbing decks, checking chemical levels, and maintaining overall cleanliness of the facility. Carry out first aid and CPR procedures confidently when necessary, ensuring immediate care during emergencies. Requirements Proven lifeguard experience with current certifications in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid from recognized organizations. Strong swimming ability with proficiency in rescue techniques and water safety procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting when needed for pool equipment or cleaning supplies. Knowledge of pool maintenance practices such as chemical balancing and filtration system operation. Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude. Prior experience in swim instruction or teaching swimming lessons is preferred but not required. Must be able to stand, walk, or remain stationary for extended periods while maintaining focus on pool activity. QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum age of 15.
- Must hold Current Red Cross Lifeguard or YMCA Lifeguarding Certification.
- Ability to maintain certification and level of physical and mental readiness.
