Job Description Responsibilities include:

• Ensure a safe environment in the pool area by maintaining a high level of alertness, taking occasional walks around the deck to ensure safety of swimmers, responding immediately to an emergency, and actively administers first aid or other established emergency procedures.
• Safeguards and regulates conduct of members by communicating and enforcing pool policies, rules and regulations in a personable and professional manner to provide a safe and fun atmosphere.
• Instruct and evaluate members in swim lessons.
• Begin and end classes on time. Be prepared and clean up supplies used after class.
• Deliver excellent customer service to all members and participants. Greeting members and offering assistance as appropriate.
• Perform sanitary and cleanliness up keep of the pool area and locker rooms.
• Set up pool for various activities such as laps, classes, etc.
• Communicates any potentially dangerous elements of the facility to supervisor.
• Responsible for the opening and closing of the pool and locker rooms.
• Ensure safety, positive values and ethical behavior through quality in programs, and the appearance of the Club, at all times. Provide guidance to members; act as role model
• Assist in maintaining inventories of all program equipment and supplies; ensure all related supplies and equipment are maintained in good order (cleanliness and up keep of Program Area after usage)
• Participation in special assignments, events, trainings as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

• Demonstrated creative, organizational, and project management abilities.
• Ability to deal effectively with members, including disciplinary issues.
• Demonstrated ability in relationship building and working with young people and parents.
• High School Diploma

Lifeguard:

1 year (Preferred)

• Experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization working with youth preferred

PART TIME

- Monday- Friday 25-30 hours per week (between 8 AM-6 PM)

• Temporary position from May 30-August 9, 2023 with the potential to continue employment in the fall dependent upon availability.
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to lift 50 lbs

License/Certification:

Lifeguard Certification (Required)
