Job Description

The Laundry Attendant will have the opportunity to impact the service to all guests through the constant supply of fresh, clean linens and terry for the hotel. Department Housekeeping FSLA Status Non-Exempt Supervisory Responsibilities None Duties/Responsibilities Receives and sorts all dirty linen and terry, pre-soaking stained items, and setting aside unusable in the appropriate reclaim or discard area. Pre-soaking includes determining the most effective solvents to be used and proper application Loads washers and dryers according to machine manufacturer's instructions, following load limit guidelines and proper use and concentration of cleaning chemicals. Removes items from dryer, sorts, folds, and stocks according to the housekeeping policy. Places items in only the proper containers for storage, transport, or distribution and never allows laundry to sit on the floor, regardless of dirty/clean status. Delivers items to guestrooms as requested. Cleans late check outs as needed, as well as public areas as assigned. Keeps laundry room clean and organized Monitors laundry chute area for appropriate access and usage. Cleans machine filters daily. Cleans behind and above dryer daily, ensuring nothing is stored behind dryer. Brings any equipment or inventory issues to the Director of Housekeeping immediately. Follows all
OSHA/HAZCOM
procedure. Wears appropriate brand required uniform and name tag during all scheduled shifts. Required Skills/Abilities Detail oriented and thorough. Ability to perform basic communication skills Education and Experience On-the-job training Physical Requirements Prolonged periods standing and walking, and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. Will also be cross training for breakfast hostess Attendance bonus paid monthly when earned.
