Job Description

Job description Join the Hotel Burbank family and help lead Southern California's latest and greatest lifestyle destination for everyday adventure seekers and bright-minded movers and shakers. We're launching a collection of new options to fuel every kind of California dream and we're looking for a colorful character to be a key leader of our growing team. The Houseperson is responsible for assisting Room Attendants on the heavy lifting of the guest room and/or suite cleaning services, and delivering and retrieving items requested to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Practice OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and comply with all company safety policies and procedures Assist Room Attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens (i.e. stripping linens from mattresses) Remove all dirty linens from assigned Room Attendants' carts and closet to transport to laundry area throughout the day Deliver fresh linens and other cart supplies to Room Attendants throughout the day Maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas: remove the trash, wipe down shelves/counters; sweep and wax the floor, remove non-floor closet items and store in appropriate areas Respond to guests' requests such as the delivery of housekeeping supplies (i.e. linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner Clean other areas such as public restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, storage areas and other public areas for assigned floors Report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions Respond to guest complaints and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments May collect newspaper and other items for recycling May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects and/or meeting setups and takedowns as needed Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic written and verbal communication skills May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma Some housekeeping experience in a hotel environment Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements:
Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility Frequently working in areas of high temperatures around heavy equipment Ability to carry, push, move and lift large, bulky and/or heavy objects up to 50 pounds and pulling items up to 100 pounds Ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, walking, repetitive bending, and other physical activities
