This role assists with building systems, room setups, custodial support, preventative maintenance, and overall campus presentation while helping ensure a safe and welcoming environment for congregants, staff, students, guests, and community members. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, flexible, and comfortable working in an active community environment that includes religious services, educational programming, events, and administrative operations. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesBuilding Operations & Maintenance Assist with daily inspection and monitoring of building systems including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and electrical systems. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the campus. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational issues. Support preventative maintenance programs and maintain maintenance logs. Coordinate with vendors and contractors as directed by the Building Engineer or Facilities Manager. Help maintain compliance with safety regulations and building standards.
Houseman / Event
Support Set up and break down rooms for meetings, religious services, events, classes, and special programs. Arrange tables, chairs, staging, podiums. Monitor event spaces during functions and provide operational support when required. Assist with moving furniture, supplies, and equipment across campus. Custodial & Grounds Support Maintain cleanliness and appearance of common areas, classrooms, offices, restrooms, and event spaces. Assist with trash removal, recycling, and cleaning assignments. Support exterior upkeep including sidewalks, entrances, and outdoor gathering areas. Identify and report conditions requiring repair or additional attention. Safety & Security Assist in maintaining a safe environment for all occupants and visitors. Report safety hazards, equipment issues, and unusual activity immediately. Support emergency response procedures and after-hours building needs when necessary. Follow all OSHA and workplace safety procedures. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, hospitality, custodial services, or related work preferred. Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance. Ability to safely use maintenance tools and cleaning equipment. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events and religious services. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the workday. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in schools, houses of worship, community centers, or hospitality environments. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Familiarity with event setup and facility operations. Basic understanding of building management systems is desirable. Work Environment This position involves indoor and outdoor work in a dynamic campus environment. The role requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, climbing stairs, and responding to operational needs throughout the property.
