BASIC FUNTIONS
Cleans guest rooms Check and maintain the physical condition of the hotel rooms. Maintains condition of and linen/supplies on the work cart.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Obtain room assignment from Supervisor at the beginning of the shift. Check your cart to be sure it's is correctly stocked. Know the correct procedure for entering a guest room. After entering a room, move your cart across the opening of the room door with the open side of the cart facing the room and then close the door while you are cleaning the room. Do not leave the door open, make sure it's completely closed for your safety and well as the guest belongings. Follow a set pattern of steps for the daily cleaning of occupied and check-out rooms so nothing is missed. Check room for damaged furniture and equipment. Report any damages or missing items to Supervisor immediately. Any items found in the guest rooms, lobby, corridor, or in back of the house need to be turned into
LOST AND FOUND
with the following information: Date, where found and finder's name. Before leaving a guest room, give the entire room one last inspection. Notify Housekeeping Management when the room is cleaned and whether is occupied or vacant. Restock your cart at the end of the shift so it is ready for the next day.
APPEARANCE
Check your personal appearance before the shift. Any Tattoos must be covered. Cannot be seen. Uniform must be clean, properly pressed and correct size. Wear the proper Black slip resistance work shoe. Clean hands and fingernails and must avoid bright nail polish. No heavy cosmetics, strong-scented perfume or excessive jewelry. Hair clean, neat and in place and conservatively styled.
HOUSEKEEPING CARTS DO NOT OVERLOAD YOUR HOUSEKEEPING CART.
Check the appearance of your Housekeeping Cart before leaving the Room Attendants Closet. The appearance of your Housekeeping Cart reflects the standards of the hotel to guest. Must be neat and organized. Store enough supplies for the shift, not for the entire week. No stickers allowed anywhere on your Housekeeping Cart. No personal belongings placed on Housekeeping Carts, personal belongings are to be stored in your lockers. Any storage items placed on the Housekeeping Carts must be approved by Housekeeping Management. Supply Boxes are only to be open by Housekeeping Management. The amenities are only for guest not the employees
GREET AND CLOSING & ATTITUDE
Greet each guest you see. "Good morning (afternoon, evening). Make the guest feel welcome, "How are you today?" It's nice to have you back with us again. Whenever possible, personalize your service by using the guest's name. Be of help and assistance, "Is your room comfortable?" If we can make your stay more comfortable please let us know. Be friendly and responsive to the guest needs, Keep your voice low on the guest floors so as to not disturb guest in their rooms. Always respond to a guest's request. If you do not know the answer to a question, tell the guest that you will check with Housekeeping Management and then be sure to follow through. Be as pleasant as possible without interrupting the guest with unnecessary conversation. If you see a guest leaving to check out, say, "Thank you for staying with us I hope to see you again soon. Have a safe trip.
ATTENTION TO DETAILS
Always close the Room Attendant's Closet door hey you are the last to leave. Know how to properly use all cleaners and cleaning equipment. Take proper care of the hotel property. Don't scrape the walls when pushing carts through the hallways. In the event of any damages to personal guest belongings in the guest room it must report immediately to Housekeeping Management. Guest security is very important. Our guest expect to feel safe in going to and from their rooms.
NEVER UNLOCK A ROOM FOR ANYONE, KNOW THE PROCEDURE THAT MUST BE TAKEN BEFORE OPENING A ROOM. REPORT ANY SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR IMMEDIATELY HOUSEKEEPING MANAGEMENT OR SECURITY.
Report any problems or sub-standard conditions such as doors that do not lock, a tear in the carpet, broken safety latches, damaged electrical cords immediately to Housekeeping Management. If valuables such as jewelry, large sums of money are found in the occupied rooms, report to Housekeeping Management immediately. Be alert to all possible hazards and practice safety at all times. Must report any possible hazards to Housekeeping Management.
