Job Overview Hyatt House and Hyatt Place Ontario are seeking a dedicated and energetic Houseman to join our hospitality team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of our guest areas and facilities. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, hallways, public areas, and back-of-house spaces using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, polishing, and specialized floor care procedures to ensure safety and aesthetic appeal Assist with hotel housekeeping tasks such as changing linens, restocking supplies, and ensuring rooms meet cleanliness standards Support janitorial duties by emptying trash receptacles, cleaning windows, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly Conduct industrial cleaning tasks when necessary, including deep cleaning of carpets, upholstery, or large-scale areas Manage custodial supplies inventory, ensuring all cleaning materials are stocked and properly stored Collaborate with housekeeping management to uphold cleanliness standards and improve service efficiency Skills Proven experience in cleaning, custodial work, or hospitality environments with a focus on cleanliness and maintenance Knowledge of floor care techniques including polishing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning Previous hotel or hospitality experience is highly desirable for understanding guest service expectations Strong understanding of janitorial procedures and industrial cleaning methods Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality Physical stamina to perform manual cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning equipment Join us in creating a pristine environment that delights our guests!
