POSITION PURPOSE

To support room attendants by servicing carts and keeping designated areas clean and fully stocked. To clean assigned public areas. To maintain confidentiality of room number, guest information, key control, and security of guest belongings. To provide service to guests and fellow team members in a manner which meets or exceeds Handlery Hotels' standards and to comply with established company and departmental policies and procedures.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Pick up soiled linen from room attendant carts, transport and organize for laundry contractor pick-up. Assist Room Attendants in moving furniture when needed. Ensure room attendants on assigned floors receive trash bags & trash is changed out routinely. Complete guest or work requests for guestrooms. Assist with projects involving maintenance of the appearance of guestroom interior and exterior, such as heavy vacuum, rotate mattress, special cleaning projects, and cleaning maintenance outside the scope of work for a room attendant. Clean hallways and stairwells on assigned floors on a daily basis. Stock linens, terry, and supplies based on established pars in storage areas. Attend and participate in daily pre-service meeting. Attend departmental meetings and training sessions. Provide additional cleaning and general housekeeping services during periods of higher than normal occupancy, holidays or special events as well as during periodic deep cleaning. Fulfill reasonable guest requests and provide excellent guest service in a friendly manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

Service and Teamwork oriented. Requires good verbal communication skills. Must be able to multi-task and perform work tasks both indoors and outdoors. Must possess basic computational ability. Working knowledge of applicable sanitation standards. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis and be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 7.5 hours in length. Must possess range of motion in combination with bending, stooping, and stretching to fulfill cleaning tasks. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Requires manual and finger dexterity. Available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
