Housekeeping Attendant / Housekeeper

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Housekeeper, you are the backbone of the Durango Lodge. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are vital for this position. You will be responsible for cleaning guest rooms for checkouts and stay-overs, and reporting any maintenance issues as needed.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Must be able to perform essential housekeeping functions while meeting company standards. Complete all pre-cleaning duties, including but not limited to, guest supplies, cleaning supplies and linen for housekeeping cart set-up. Heavy work-exerting force frequently and constantly lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise move objects in order to properly clean. Must be capable of bending over, stooping and working on the knees in order to perform such functions as scrubbing commodes, tubs, cleaning tiles and putting away items. Assist in laundering linens & terry for hotel operations. Must be able to follow all safety practices such as wearing personal protective equipment, reading chemical warning labels and other safe work practices. Report all missing items from rooms (i.e. irons/boards, hair dryers, etc.) to Housekeeping Manager.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming. Must be always attentive, courteous and efficient in the dealings with the clients, guests, managers and all other employees. Participate in all-employee meetings, events and other functions required by management. Must be able to understand and follow directions, guidelines and work objectives as set forth by the supervisor. Long hours sometimes required. Perform any other duties as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have local housing (Required) High school diploma or equivalent (Required) Experience in hospitality, janitorial work, industrial cleaning, or custodial services is a plus Strong organizational skills to effectively manage tasks and prioritize duties
