Job Description

Riley Power Group, LLC (RPG) is a full-service maintenance and capital construction services company headquartered in Rock Hill, SC. We support complex industrial construction and maintenance projects across the United States. We are currently seeking a Weld Room Attendant for a project located in Groton, CT. The Wire Room Attendant is an extremely important role at Electric Boat to ensure that the welding of submarines is completed on schedule and with complete accuracy. We are looking for highly motivated candidates to join our team in supporting the welding departments with the effort to supply these critical assets to the US Navy. Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to the following: Responsible to operate personnel and mainframe computer systems. Required to understand the EB policies and procedures regarding weld wire, understanding and administering the wire room responsibilities of proper receiving, storage, handling and conditioning, acceptance of weld wire requisitions, issuance and discarding of welding consumables. Issuance of tools, PPE, and other tool crib related items. Participation in company and customer audits. Will required to work until the end of the normal scheduled shift hours, work various shifts and overtime to support shipyard construction schedules. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD secret clearance. Scheduling, ordering, tracking and prioritization of weld consumable type materials for EB wire rooms including interfacing with management, planning, purchasing, QP warehouses, QP inspection and Groton engineering Schedule, order, track and prioritize tool crib type materials for EBCORP tool rooms including interfacing with trades all level of management Required to move heavy pallets of weld wire and stock welding materials in an orderly fashion, as per level 1 procedure also, pallets of crib materials and stock crib materials in an orderly fashion, contingent with any EBCORP procedures
Required:
HS Diploma or Ged OR 2 or more years of related technical experience. 5+ years of manufacturing and/or production experience Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.
Preferred:
experience as a welder or wire room alternate
Skills:
Be able to work safely in an environment of heavy and at times heated products Steadfastness enough to properly conduct verbal exchange for proper weld wire issue identification Comfortable participating in company and customer audit procedures Have a high propensity to learn and operate the ATICTS system weld wire computer programming including report running, creating part numbers, receiving and entering inventory Have ability to master other related programming such as MRPII for weld wire ordering Must retain an ability to work independently with minimal supervisor oversight. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with level 1 welding and construction materials as they relate to welding consumable issue Use of Stairs and Ladders The ability to lift a minimum of 25Ibs, stand for extended period of time, twist, bend, kneel and stoop Equal Opportunity RPG is an equal opportunity employer.
