Job Description
Housekeeping Position - Historic Private Club & Event Venue DACOR Bacon House is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and service-minded Housekeeper to join our team. This role is essential to maintaining the beauty, cleanliness, and readiness of our historic property, including guest accommodations, common areas, offices, and event-facing spaces. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating clean, welcoming environments and understands the importance of discretion, consistency, and hospitality in a member- and guest-focused setting. Position Summary The Housekeeper is responsible for the daily cleanliness and upkeep of: Guest rooms Hallways and staircases Event spaces Restrooms Offices Laundry room Entrance doorways Shared/common spaces throughout the House This position also supports guestroom turnover and may require occasional weekend availability for room changeovers and special operational needs. Key Responsibilities Guest Room Cleaning & Turnover Thoroughly clean and prepare guest rooms after departures Vacuum, dust, and polish all surfaces, mirrors, windows, and blinds Clean inside drawers, closets, under beds, and refrigerators Clean and restock coffee stations and in-room amenities Sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, tubs, tile, and floors Change linens, towels, bathmats, and replenish toiletries Check lighting and ensure guestroom notices/materials are properly in place Monthly Deep Cleaning Wash pillows, shower curtain liners, and bed skirts Vacuum curtains and clean bathroom vents Rotate mattresses (with assistance) Dust baseboards and remove cobwebs Housekeeping for Common Areas Clean hallways, event spaces, staircases, restrooms, offices, laundry room, and entryways Empty trash and recycling daily Vacuum, dust, and maintain public-facing spaces to a high standard Report misplaced or unusual items to management Operational, Security, & Event Support Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment Support opening/closing of main doors as directed Help monitor guest, vendor, and contractor traffic as needed Check doors, windows, and fire exit pathways for compliance and safety Assist with doorperson duties and front-of-house support during events when needed including laundering event linen Immediately report any safety, maintenance, or guest concerns to management Qualifications Prior housekeeping, hotel, club, or hospitality cleaning experience preferred Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Able to lift, bend, stand, and move throughout a physically active shift Fluent in English and able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Professional demeanor and comfort working in a member/guest-facing environment Flexibility to assist with occasional weekends and special events Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with operations and front-of-house leadership What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Notices the details others miss Understands that cleanliness is part of the guest experience Takes initiative and ownership of their work Can be trusted in a professional, discreet, and high-standard environment Brings a positive attitude and team-first mindset Schedule Primarily Monday-Friday Occasional weekend work required for guestroom turnovers and operational support Compensation $21.00 per hour This position will begin as a 1099 independent contractor engagement for an initial 90-day term. Upon successful completion of the initial term, and based on performance, operational needs, and mutual fit, DACOR may elect to transition the selected candidate into a regular employee position.
