Houseman

SUMMARY:

Miami-based private family seeks a hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy houseman. The successful candidate will have, among other characteristics, excellent cleanliness standards, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Attention to detail, prioritization, and time management skills are important as are flexibility, honesty, reliability. This is an hourly position with a minimum of 40-50 hours per week including weekends and some holidays. The Houseman will work closely with the Leadership Team as well as directly with the Principals.

Sunday - Thursday, Fri/Sat OFF (Family not in resident) Open Flexible schedule (Family in resident)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform routine inspections and daily walkthroughs for maintenance of household systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances. Handle minor repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, patching drywall, and assembling furniture. Coordinate with contractors and service providers for larger repairs and renovations. Running errands and delivering high-end products. Clean and maintain interior and exterior windows, floors, metal finishes, household surfaces, and outdoor areas. Assist with deep cleaning projects, seasonal preparations, furniture protection, storage organization, and household setup/breakdown for projects or events. Clean and maintain vehicles, ensuring they are fueled and serviced when needed. Perform light driving duties, errands, pickups/drop-offs, and delivery of high-end products Clean and maintain vehicles, ensuring they remain fueled, serviced, and presentation-ready Support housekeeping and property staff with daily household operations and special projects Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling management throughout the property Secure the property by monitoring locks, alarms, surveillance systems, and overall home safety Prepare the home for the Principals' arrival by ensuring the property is clean, stocked, fully functional, and any special requests are completed Frequent walking and standing throughout the workday, with the ability to lift, carry, and move boxes, furniture, and materials as needed Be available to live on-site during severe weather events to monitor home safety, secure outdoor furniture, and respond to any emergency repairs. Be available to work on weekends, holidays, and Sundays as required, and willing to work overtime when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Must have at least 5 years of experience as a houseman, handyman, maintenance worker, or similar role in a private household or estate. Knowledge of general home maintenance, plumbing, electrical work, and basic carpentry. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Knowledge of cleaning products and their application/use on museum quality furniture and various surfaces. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Comfortable performing tasks that may require standing, bending, lifting, or working outdoors. Discreet, trustworthy, and professional demeanor. Valid driver's license.

Pay:

$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
