Job Description

Florida Helps is seeking and Detail oriented individual to join our Team. The Housekeeper provides a clean and safe living and working area for patients and staff well within established guidelines, following procedures for safe and sanitary living conditions. The Housekeeper works within the facility's policies and procedures and in accordance with standards of State and Federal regulations.
SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Damp wipes with a germicidal solution: chairs, tops of bedside cabinets, lamps, windowsills, etc. Cleans all horizontal surfaces daily with a disinfectant to remove dust, dirt, and greasy film. Empties and washes ashtrays, empty and clean wastebaskets, reline wastebaskets with plastic liners. Empties and disinfects garbage cans, reline with plastic liners. Cleans tubs, shower stalls, tub room floors and fixtures daily. Cleans and sanitize bathrooms. Cleans the sink of soap and other articles. Cleans and hose down entrance mats when needed. Cleans treatment rooms, patient rooms, lounges, and waiting areas as assigned. Washes windows, sills, doors, and damp clean air vents in bathrooms. Keeps cleaning equipment in good working order, replacing damaged equipment when necessary, and keeping all equipment clean and tidy. Maintains housekeeping closets at all times. Transports soiled linen to proper storage area. Disinfects all soiled linen containers, reline with plastic liners. Assists in the storing of clean liners. Maintains clean and sanitary conditions in immediate work areas. Promotes a favorable/positive work atmosphere. Attends in services and educational training as necessary and as assigned. Seek out learning experiences and incorporate new knowledge into practice. Maintains flexibility and adaptability to expected and unexpected changes in the work environment. Reports personal symptoms of suspected illness or contagious diseases to the Program Nurse. Utilizes hand-washing techniques and universal precaution at all times Pleasant, tactful, and courteous to patients, visitors and other employees and contractors. Physically and mentally healthy to perform job duties. Conforms to dress code as established by the Chief Executive Officer and appropriate to workplace setting. Reports incidents, accidents, and occurrences in accordance with policies and procedures. Maintains the safety of the physical environment. Being sensitive to Cultural Issues in the workplace, and clients. Completes daily tasks as assigned Maintains acceptable overall attendance. Reported to work as assigned. Performs all other tasks as assigned. Lifting 25lbs +
Work Environment:
Works in a professional environment including professional offices, clinics, hospitals, or out-patient facilities. Position requires work in a temperature-controlled environment; 80% - 90% of the time spent indoors.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
