Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Houseperson to join our dynamic hospitality team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities, creating a safe, comfortable, and inviting environment for guests and staff alike. Your expertise in facilities maintenance, mechanical systems, electrical work, and general repairs will help uphold our high standards of quality and service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced hospitality setting while contributing to memorable guest experiences. Duties Perform routine inspections and maintenance of hotel facilities, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, and structural elements. Assist with residential painting projects, minor carpentry repairs, and cosmetic updates to maintain the hotel's aesthetic appeal. Operate and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automated systems to ensure proper functioning of building equipment. Conduct welding and mechanical repairs as needed to address equipment malfunctions or structural issues. Use schematics and technical manuals to diagnose problems accurately and execute repairs efficiently. Manage maintenance requests through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), prioritizing tasks for timely completion. Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects, ensuring safety protocols are followed and work is completed to standard. Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting and ensure all repairs meet safety regulations. Oversee cleaning and upkeep of common areas, including hallways, lobbies, and service corridors. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations while providing excellent customer service to guests and staff. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance within a hospitality or residential setting. Proficiency in electrical work, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting using tools like ohmmeters. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), manufacturing processes, or industrial automation is a plus. Skilled in welding, residential painting, carpentry, and general repair techniques. Ability to read technical schematics and manuals accurately for effective troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and teamwork coordination. Supervising experience or leadership skills to oversee maintenance projects or junior staff effectively. Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and documentation. $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
