Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. SUMMARY Responsible for cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, laboratories, offices, hallways and other areas by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Disinfects and sterilizes equipment and supplies and keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
  • Maintains cleaning equipment in proper working condition and reports on equipment and/or furniture in need of repair.
  • Cleans and maintains public washrooms used by residents, visitors, and employees. replenishes towels, toilet tissue and soap.
  • Cleans unoccupied resident rooms thoroughly; performs duties such as mopping floors, washing furniture, scrubbing plastic cushions and bed frames; cleans and washes washroom fixtures; dusts lamps and performs other cleaning duties.
  • Cleans occupied residents rooms; maintains resident showers and washrooms in a clean, safe and orderly condition; replenishes soap, towels and toilet issue dispensers.
  • Cleans other areas such as offices, workrooms, lobbies, classrooms, etc...
  • Dusts furniture and equipment; Washes walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. Dust mops and wet mops floors; vacuums carpets and rugs.
  • Empties, washes and relines wastebaskets. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and re-prioritize assigned tasks as needed.
  • Attends in-service programs and meetings as required.
