This position supports the Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Maintenance departments by ensuring all public areas are clean and presentable, responding to guest requests, completing deep cleaning projects, and operating the hotel shuttle as needed. The Overnight Houseperson plays a key role in preparing the hotel for the next day's operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean and maintain all public areas, including the lobby, restrooms, hallways, elevators, fitness center, meeting spaces, and exterior entrances. Perform detailed cleaning of guest rooms as assigned, including stayover, checkout, and deep-clean projects. Sweep, mop, vacuum, shampoo carpets, buff floors, and complete other floor care tasks. Remove trash from guest and public areas and replenish supplies throughout the hotel. Assist with laundry operations and housekeeping needs as required. Move furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed while following proper lifting techniques. Respond promptly to guest requests in a professional and courteous manner. Conduct routine property walks and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or security issues immediately. Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and company procedures. Assist with emergency situations and follow all hotel safety and security procedures. Operate the hotel shuttle to transport guests safely to and from designated locations while providing excellent customer service. Perform other duties as assigned by hotel management. Qualifications Previous housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or hospitality experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during overnight hours. Excellent guest service and communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and pushing carts. Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. Must be eligible to meet the hotel's vehicle insurance requirements for operating the hotel shuttle. Flexible schedule with the ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and reach overhead. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when operating the hotel shuttle or maintaining exterior areas. Work Environment This position requires working overnight in a fast-paced hotel environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, cleanliness, safety, and guest service. The Overnight Houseperson must be dependable, self-motivated, and capable of handling responsibilities with minimal supervision.
