Full Time Role - 40 Hours a Week 1915 PM to 5:45 AM Weekends/Holiday rotation Requires Direct Patient Interaction Overview Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more. Housekeeping is vital in reducing infection by maintaining a clean facility for the hospital, medical office building and Eunice Smith Nursing Home. The housekeeping department is responsible for daily cleaning of all patient care areas and the periodic cleaning of all offices and support space. The skills range from routine cleaning to sterile cleaning processes. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Housekeeper is an environmental services worker who is responsible for daily housekeeping services as assigned, using procedures as outlined by the hospital or service organization. Responsibilities Performs routine janitorial and cleaning activities in patient, public and common areas using prescribed, established cleaning process. Performs discharge cleaning process in inpatient rooms and prepares room for next admission. Performs room set up and changes as needed, including changing linens, cleaning, mopping and furnishing. Keeps equipment clean and functional according to procedure. Notifies supervisor or manager of any equipment, furniture, or building fixtures that are in need of maintenance.
