$30.00 to $35.00 per hour to start with opportunity to increase based on performance and tenure

ASAP Position Overview:
A married couple, both of whom are busy executives living and working in downtown Chicago seek an experienced Household Assistant/Housekeeper/Cook to help maintain their home, prepare meals (including grab and go lunch and breakfasts), care for their adorable non-shedding dog, and support daily household needs. The couple has a busy, on the go lifestyle, so meals will be simple and prepared in advance as opposed to cooked and served in the moment. The right person will enjoy creating ready to serve options such as casseroles, prepped meals, and healthy snacks that make daily life easier. The couple is fine with leftovers and the cadence of meal prep, cooking, etc. may vary from week to week. The right candidate is reliable, punctual, has excellent judgement, possesses a strong attention to detail, requires minimal direction and maintains the utmost discretion. Reliability, punctuality, and consistency are of the utmost importance.
The Household:
The residence is a 2200 square foot high-rise condo in Chicago's Gold Coast with one small, Cockapoo (non-shedding) dog who is as sweet as can be. The home has a structured, yet calm and cozy atmosphere with a strong emphasis on organization, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Daily primary responsibilities include housekeeping/common area reset, dog care, laundry/dry cleaning, and preparation of meals (mainly dinner). Below represents a comprehensive and detailed overview of all potential responsibilities.
Please note:
A separate cleaning service comes once a week to deep clean all rooms, bathrooms, etc.
Housekeeping:
Daily Maintenance:
"Upkeep"/reset of kitchen, living room, entry way, and primary bathroom, bedroom, other rooms as needed (i.e. wiping counters, clean sinks in kitchen and primary bathroom, straighten and fluff pillows, rugs, make bed in primary bedroom and ensuring all items are returned to their designated places. Entry way hall and kitchen to be vacuumed and mopped each day. Light dusting as required/needed.
Kitchen:
Daily cleaning/wiping of countertops and backsplash; wipe/clean the stove top, hood, toaster oven, and microwave. Regular "clean and purge" of the refrigerator and freezer (checking expiration dates and wiping shelves).
Organizational Projects:
Seasonal "purge/declutter" projects for the kitchen cabinets, wipe our closets, refrigerator, storage areas, closets, etc. to ensure no expired or unused items accumulate. Periodic polishing of silverware and delicate crystal or glassware. Seasonally, there may be a need to deep clean certain areas (windows, screens, grout, curtains, doors, put duvet cover on after dry cleaning, wipe out cabinets and drawers in kitchen and bathroom, lead periodic clean-outs of cabinets and closets. etc.
Meal Prep, Groceries, Errands:
Prepare dinner, grab-and-go breakfasts/lunches, and snacks as needed
Inventory & Errands:
Maintain a running list of groceries and supplies that need to be replaced or restocked Perform grocery shopping, pharmacy runs, and other errands as assigned Oversees deliveries, packages, and returns.
Dog Care & Love:
Care for adorable cockapoo w/walks, exercise, play, and other occasional pup care needs Dog walking 2x daily for 20 to 30 min each walk (1pm & 5pm M to Th and 12pm & 4pm on Fri) Occasional vet visits Daily washing of dog bowls
Laundry & Dry Cleaning:
Full Cycle Laundry:
wash, dry, fold, and put away all clothing (2x weekly) Steam and/or iron delicate garments, as needed (not often as most items are drycleaned or pressed)
Dry Cleaning:
drop-off, pick-up, and put away (1x per week)
Linens:
Weekly washing of master bedroom sheets. Iron pillowcases and top part of top sheet (1x per week)
Household Management & Vendor Oversight:
Maintenance:
Proactively identify and address issues (e.g., spotting a water stain, noticing a flickering bulb). Coordinate with vendors (HVAC, plumbers, painters) for quotes and repairs.
Small Appliance Upkeep:
Change water filters and batteries; ensure all appliances are in good working order. Assist with light household maintenance (cleaning humidifiers, replacing small filters) Oversee specialized organizational projects such as labeling storage bins, digitalizing home inventories, or streamlining household systems.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional housekeeping experience in a private home Must love dogs! Reliable, trustworthy, and discreet Approaches their role with a sense of pride and strong attention to detail Organized and proactive — anticipates needs before being asked Communicates clearly, consistently follows instructions and proactively asks clarifying questions Maintain discretion with personal and confidential information. Provide flexible support for personal or administrative needs Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (onsite indoor heated parking available at no cost) Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Compensation & Benefits:
