Houseman Holiday Inn Express - Peotone, IL Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities Available Join Our Team! The Holiday Inn Express in Peotone is looking for a hardworking and dependable Houseman to help maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests. Position Overview As a Houseman, you will play an essential role in supporting the housekeeping and maintenance teams by ensuring public areas, guest floors, and common spaces remain clean, organized, and well-maintained. Your efforts will directly contribute to the overall guest experience and the success of our hotel. Essential Responsibilities Clean and maintain public areas, including the lobby, hallways, elevators, fitness center, and guest common areas. Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize assigned areas. Assist with floor care, including sweeping, polishing, and maintaining various flooring surfaces. Perform carpet cleaning as needed. Clean interior and exterior windows to maintain the appearance of the property. Maintain landscaping and garden areas, including watering, weeding, trimming, and general upkeep of flower beds and outdoor spaces. Perform snow removal and ice mitigation during winter months, including shoveling sidewalks, entrances, and other guest-accessible areas to ensure safety. Remove trash and recyclables from designated areas. Clean and sanitize public restrooms and replenish supplies as necessary. Deliver requested items and amenities to guest rooms. Assist housekeeping staff with linen distribution and supply management. Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and damaged equipment to management. Ensure all cleaning duties are completed according to hotel standards and safety procedures. Provide friendly and professional service to guests and respond to requests promptly. Qualifications Previous hotel, housekeeping, custodial, commercial cleaning, or groundskeeping experience preferred but not required. Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, sanitization procedures, and basic landscaping practices is a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent guest service and communication skills. Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Schedule Requirements Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be available to assist with snow removal during winter weather events when scheduled. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and carrying. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform physical cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the shift. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, snow, and cold temperatures. Ability to safely operate cleaning, snow removal, and groundskeeping equipment when required. Why Join Us?
