We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Commercial Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of our commercial retail building. In a high-traffic retail environment, first impressions are everything. This role will ensure that our storefront, sales floor, common areas, and restrooms remain spotless and welcoming for customers and staff alike. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Floor & Common Areas:
Sweep, dust mop, vacuum, and wet mop main walkways, retail displays, and entryways. Wipe down high-touch surfaces, glass, and mirrors. Restroom Sanitation:
Thoroughly clean, disinfect, and restock restrooms (sinks, toilets, mirrors, floors) multiple times a day to maintain a pristine, sanitary environment. Waste Management:
Empty all trash receptacles and recycling bins throughout the shopping and office spaces; transport waste safely and dispose in designated areas. Spill & Hazard Response:
Act quickly to clean up unexpected spills, broken glass, or debris on the sales floor to prevent slip-and-fall hazards. Supply Management:
Keep the housekeeping cart stocked, organized, and safely stored. Monitor cleaning inventories and report shortages to management. Customer Service & Safety:
Maintain a polite, professional demeanor when interacting with customers or tenants. Always display "wet floor" signs and follow safety protocols. Building Inspections:
Report any maintenance issues, property damage, or safety hazards (such as burnt-out lightbulbs or leaking fixtures) to the supervisor. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Attention to Detail:
A sharp eye for spots, dust, and clutter in customer-facing environments. Equipment Knowledge:
Familiarity with standard cleaning chemicals, safety data sheets (SDS), and basic equipment (commercial vacuums, floor scrubbers/buffers, dust mops). Schedule Flexibility:
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on retail store operating hours. EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in commercial cleaning, retail maintenance, or hospitality housekeeping is preferred but not required (on-the-job training is provided). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach and climb for extended periods Capable of lifting, carrying, and moving objects up to 35 lbs. safely Sufficient vision and hearing to safely perform duties SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
