Good Sam or UK Chandler Hospital Position Summary:

The 2nd shift team associates are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing hospital areas after patient discharge to help prevent the spread of infection and germs. This role focuses on cleaning empty patient rooms and bathrooms , as well as offices, workspaces, public areas, and restrooms and areas as assigned. Each discharge clean takes approximately 30-45 minutes and includes removing trash, sanitizing surfaces, and making beds. All associates are required to complete two weeks of training , including hands‑on experience in occupied patient rooms , as required by the hospital training program. Training Requirement (Mandatory): Must be available for two consecutive weeks of training Training schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30

PM Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms, lobbies, offices, and workspaces Remove trash and dispose of it in a sanitary manner Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors Vacuum carpets, rugs, and draperies Shampoo carpets, rugs, and upholstery as needed Dust and polish furniture and fixtures Clean mirrors, glass surfaces, sinks, tubs, and showers Make beds and change linens Realign furniture and room amenities according to hospital standards Respond professionally to staff and patient requests and address housekeeping needs promptly. Address spills, broken glass, or other housekeeping issues promptly Work collaboratively with team members and maintain a professional demeanor Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age or older Must pass background and drug screening Must be able to walk long distances and lift/pull up to 25 lbs Must be able to speak, read, and write English and communicate effectively with staff and patients Must be able to work rotating weekends and holidays How to
