Weekend only 1st shift Housekeeping UK Hospital

Shift:

7:00 AM - 3:30 PM every Saturday and Sunday Part time every weekend (16 hours)

UK Chandler Hospital Position Summary:

First shift associates at UK Chandler Hospital play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within an active healthcare setting. This position focuses on cleaning occupied patient rooms , high‑traffic public spaces, the Emergency Department , and procedural and OR support areas , while working around patients, visitors, and clinical staff. Associates may be assigned or cross‑trained in specialty support roles such as Trash Technician or Floor Technician , depending on operational needs. This role supports infection prevention efforts and contributes directly to patient care and safety. All associates are required to complete two weeks of hospital training , including hands‑on experience in occupied patient areas , per hospital training standards. Training Requirement (Mandatory): Must be available for two consecutive weeks of training at Full time hours Training schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30

PM Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize occupied patient rooms while patients are present Clean and disinfect public areas including lobbies, hallways, elevators, and waiting areas Support cleaning efforts in the Emergency Department and procedural/OR areas if assigned to these areas Perform high‑touch surface disinfection to reduce the spread of infection Make beds and change linens as needed Remove trash, regulated medical waste, and linen (Trash Tech duties) Perform floor care duties such as mopping, scrubbing, buffing, or floor maintenance (Floor Tech duties) Clean restrooms, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors Vacuum carpets and entry mats Respond professionally to staff and patient requests Work collaboratively with clinical teams and housekeeping staff Maintain professionalism, discretion, and empathy in patient‑care environments Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age or older Must pass background check and drug screening Must be able to walk long distances and lift/pull up to 25 lbs Must be able to speak, read, and write English and communicate effectively with staff and patients Must be comfortable working in occupied clinical areas , including ED and OR support zones if assigned in these areas How to
