This is a part-time, non-unit, non-benefted, up to 10 hours per week position. This position typically works during the Summer semester only. Weekly schedule may be flexible based on candidate's availability. SALARY:
$15.50/hr STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The Darkroom Attendant will maintain a clean, stocked darkroom for students to utilize outside of class time. During open lab hours, the Darkroom Attendant will facilitate film development and printing by preparing printing trays and monitoring the chemicals for exhaustion and replenishing as needed. The Darkroom Attendant will be responsible for cleaning after open labs and properly disposing of exhausted chemicals, among other duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Mix and maintain darkroom chemicals (e.g. D76, Developer, Stop Bath, Fixer, Hypoclear). Clean and supervise darkroom lab for students during open lab hours. Assist student with film development and printing, as needed. Complete required trainings such as, but not limited to, Title IX, FERPA, Bloodborne Pathogens and Information Security. Foster student success across the college's diverse student body. Demonstrate a sense of professionalism and consistently reflect Bristol's core values while interacting with members of the Bristol community. Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions and work collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•NOTE:
Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire. Must be currently enrolled in a photography, fine art, or related higher education program or hold a minimum of an Associate degree in photography, fine art or related field. Minimum of one year of experience in analog photography, which could be in the classroom or a professional setting. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered. Demonstrated proficiency with darkroom chemicals, including mixing chemicals and setting up print development stations. Proven technological proficiency, which may include Microsoft Office 365 applications. The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of two years of experience in analog photography, including experience maintaining darkroom chemicals and equipment. Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
