Job Purpose:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the community. This role supports the comfort, health, and well-being of residents, visitors, and staff by ensuring all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained according to established standards and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives daily work assignments from the Supervisor and follows established cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly). Cleans and maintains assigned areas, including floors, furnishings, fixtures, and horizontal surfaces, using approved housekeeping procedures and disinfectants as required. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, spot cleans, and disinfects floors and carpeting as needed. Cleans and disinfects bathrooms (resident, private, and public), including fixtures, floors, walls, mirrors, windows, doors, ceilings, and replenishment of supplies. Cleans stairways, elevators, entrances, exits, and other common areas. Performs emergency and terminal cleaning of resident rooms following spills, accidents, discharges, transfers, or isolation protocols, preparing rooms for new occupants per established procedures. Empties, cleans, and relines waste receptacles; removes and properly disposes of trash and waste. Inspects furnishings, equipment, and structural areas for wear, damage, or malfunction and reports concerns to the Supervisor. Maintains and properly uses housekeeping equipment and supplies. Performs all duties in a safe, sanitary, and hazard-free manner. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Position Requirements:
Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Demonstrates a high standard of personal cleanliness and hygiene. Pleasant, tactful, and courteous demeanor. Physically able to perform assigned duties, including standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Ability to work cooperatively with other employees.
Compensation:
$16.50-$17.25
