This active position involves setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and equipment, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work efficiently with limited supervisor. Candidates must have flexibility with their schedule, as hours will change based on booked events. This is a great part-time job for those looking for a few extra hours of work or for college students with some free time. No experience necessary. Evening, overnight and weekend shifts available. •Please understand that this is a physical job that requires the ability to lift, bend and carry. You will be moving banquet tables, setting up dance floors, carting podiums, hoovering carpets, etc.•A typical shift might entail: Read and analyze banquet event orders to determine proper function room set-up. Set banquet rooms to these specifications, ensuring cleanliness and attention to detail. Communicate with banquet coordinator, staff and clients to ensure guest needs are met. Following events, manage final breakdown, clean up and re-setting of function rooms. Essential Functions (the specifics) Set up rooms and function areas with designated tables, chairs, staging, dance floor, screens, and other equipment as specified in banquet event orders, floor plans and in accordance with departmental standards. Coordinate with banquet managers, captains, coordinators and sales on the set up of specialty chairs, table linens, skirting, tabletop items (water pitchers, glasses, note pads, etc.) as specified in banquet event orders, floor plans and in accordance with departmental standards. Assist with the setup of routine audio/visual equipment, such as LCD projectors and screens. Assemble temporary dance floors, set podiums, risers as needed. Break down function areas and re-set rooms. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards. Handle all equipment carefully and perform job duties in a safe manner to minimize the probability of accidents; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries to a supervisor. Keep linen and banquet supply closets stocked and orderly. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Help move decorations and equipment to off-premises storage when needed. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements (this isn't a desk job!) Stand or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e. g., small print). Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps. Move up and down stairs.
