The Department of Residential Facilities is responsible for the maintenance and housekeeping services for the College Park Campus' 70+ residence halls, Greek chapter houses, and recreational facilities encompassing over 2.7 million square feet. The department employs over 300 exempt, non-exempt, and student staff.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Housekeeper position provides housekeeping services in an assigned area; maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, appearance, healthfulness, and safety possible so that the purposes, safety and comfort of the people and the places we serve are enabled. Within an assigned area or building(s), the position will perform the full range of housekeeping tasks to include but not limited to trash removal, floor care, restroom/locker room cleaning, public area cleaning, and high dusting. The work shift will be 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and will include working some weekends and holidays.

Incumbent would also have to stand, walk, bend, twist, and stoop as part of regular duties. As part of staff training and skills development, the incumbent may need to demonstrate how to effectively perform overhead work and use powered equipment. Incumbent may be required to work in non-air-conditioned spaces, work with cleaning chemicals, lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. Work will involve repetitive motion. The incumbent will be required to inspect work, which may involve bending, stooping, walking, and climbing.
