Job Description

Job description Our facility is currently seeking casual Housekeeping/Laundry staff. We are looking for those with a great attitude to join our team. We strive to maintain a home-like environment for residents and provide them with highest quality of care. Our goal is to assure that the highest degree of safety, security, and cleanliness is maintained at all times. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Receives daily work assignments from posted schedule or from the housekeeping/laundry supervisor. Assignment may vary or be changed at the discretion of the supervisor, or the designated person in charge of housekeeping. After receiving assignment, material and supplies needed are selected from utility or housekeeping closet, loaded to service cart, and transported to work area. Assigned area is cleaned by washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with proper cleaning or disinfecting solutions, in accordance with established procedures. Is expected to request help when performing heavy moving and is to assist others in the same manner. Reports mechanical/ equipment failure to supervisor for repair, also notifies supervisor when supplies or materials are needed. Scours and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors, and other equipment and is to replenish soap, towels, and other dispensable items as needed. Dust windowsills, light fixtures, furnishings, floors, and empty trash containers. Operates custodial equipment (vacuum, buffer, etc.) and is to observe safety procedures associated with each. Retrieves soiled laundry from floor hampers and distributes and stocks clean linen closets. Sorts soiled linen, observing proper sanitary and infection control procedures. Performs mending duties as needed. At shift's end, unused supplies get returned to utility closet and soiled linen and trash is left in designated containers; also responsible for cleaning carts and equipment.
