Banquet Houseman Godfrey Hotel Detroit, Curio Collection by Hilton - 3.0 Detroit, MI Job Details Part-time 4 hours ago Benefits 401(k) Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Employee relationship building Task prioritization Decision making Event cleanup Cleaning messes in dining areas Catering event room organization Full Job Description Job Overview The Banquet Houseman is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down banquet and meeting spaces to ensure successful execution of events throughout the hotel. This position plays a vital role in creating exceptional guest experiences by ensuring event spaces are prepared according to specifications, maintained throughout events, and restored following completion. The Banquet Houseman works closely with the Banquet Manager, banquet staff, and other hotel departments to support meetings, conferences, weddings, social events, and special functions. Responsibilities Event Setup and Breakdown Set up banquet rooms, meeting spaces, and event venues according to banquet event orders (BEOs) and floor plans. Event Support Monitor banquet and meeting spaces during events to ensure cleanliness and proper presentation. Replenish supplies, tables, chairs, and equipment as needed during functions. Respond promptly to requests from banquet managers, captains, and guests. Assist banquet servers and bartenders with operational needs during events. Ensure all event spaces remain organized and free of hazards. Equipment and Inventory Management Safely transport banquet equipment, furniture, and supplies throughout the hotel. Maintain banquet storage areas in a clean and organized manner. Inspect banquet equipment for damage and report maintenance needs promptly. Assist with inventory counts and proper storage of banquet supplies and equipment. Ensure tables, chairs, and banquet equipment are cleaned and stored properly after use. Arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, podiums, linens, audiovisual equipment, and other event-related items. Break down and reset event spaces following the completion of functions. Ensure all setups are completed accurately and within established timelines. Assist with room flips and multiple event setups throughout the day.
