Housekeeping

Job Summary The Housekeeper at Courtyard Manor of Farmington Hills is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position focuses on thorough cleaning and sanitation of resident rooms and common areas in accordance with assisted living standards and infection control guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Resident Room Cleaning Clean and sanitize resident bedrooms and bathrooms on a daily and scheduled basis Dust furniture, light fixtures, vents, and surfaces in resident rooms Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors in resident living spaces Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces including door handles, bed rails, switches, and call buttons Make beds and tidy resident rooms while respecting resident preferences and privacy Report maintenance issues or safety concerns observed in resident rooms Common Area & Facility Cleaning Clean and sanitize common areas including hallways, lounges, dining areas, offices, and restrooms Empty trash and replace liners in resident rooms and common areas Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces as assigned Infection Control & Safety Follow all infection control, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines Use cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment properly and safely Assist with enhanced cleaning procedures during illness outbreaks or as directed Identify and report spills, hazards, or unsafe conditions immediately Facility Support & Teamwork Restock cleaning supplies and notify supervisor of low inventory Participate in deep cleaning and special projects as assigned Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and staff Maintain resident dignity, confidentiality, and privacy at all times

Qualifications Required:

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to perform physical duties including bending, lifting, and standing Compassionate and respectful attitude toward elderly residents

Preferred:

Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in healthcare or assisted living Knowledge of infection control practices Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25-40 pounds Ability to push and maneuver housekeeping carts and equipment
