WAGE:
$ 14.75 /HOUR+ TIPS
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Same duties as a guest room attendant in addition to the following: Strip vacated rooms of linen and garbage and stock with clean supplies and amenities for room attendants. Inspect recently cleaned hotel rooms for quality assurance and cleanliness after room attendants have finished. Give immediate feedback to responsible room attendant when something is found missing or done incorrectly in their room, in addition to helpful coaching in areas on needed improvement. Document quality control. Release completed, inspected rooms via phone system and/ or lead in charge. End of day inspection and clearing of hallways. Stock and inspect freight elevator areas and carts at end of day. Fill out incident reports when needed to turn into Supervisor and/ or Senior Lead. Keep management team informed of all developments, happenings, issues, concerns and other vital information that will in turn affect the department, employees or business. Demonstrate leadership by example. Assist supervisor by providing input on room attendant's development and growth evaluations and on going work performance. Fill in when necessary to perform Room Check Duties. ($.50/hour extra when duties are performed)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
 High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
 Minimum 3 months experience at the Island Resort & Casino housekeeping department in addition to being out of any probationary status and must have proven exemplary housekeeping skills.
Skills and Abilities:
 Must be able to work under pressure, be self-motivated and be able to work independently with the ability to adapt to change. Must be able to work in a demanding, fast paced environment and have good public relation and good communication skills. Must be able to multi­ task and be able to make quick decisions and judgment calls. Must be able to accept constructive feedback from management. Must be willing to always project a professional image. Must be willing and flexible to work 40 hours a week with a flexible work schedule including days, hours and holidays, must also be flexible to work overtime if needed.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Commercial and non-commercial carpet machines, vacuum cleaners, tile scrubbers, air compressor, copy machine and interactive radios.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Stand / walk 7 hours of an 8-hour shift. Sit for up to 1 hour out of an 8-hour shift. Lift and carry up to 40 pounds without assistance frequently during an 8-hour shift. Occasionally must be able to mover dressers/other furnishings and flip mattresses. Crawl occasionally for cleaning baseboards and elevator tracks. Must be able to push/pull a fully loaded supply cart up to 40 pounds. Must be able to wear non-latex gloves for the cleaning rooms. Must be able to use both hands for repetitive motions during shift performing simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation. Must be able to work with the following cleanings: Chlorine, acid, alkaline, alcohol, petroleum, chloride, and ammonia based products. Flammable aerosols, spa/whirlpool cleaner, solvents and bleach. Depending on daily activities, all requirements during a shift may vary from what is listed above.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. High/low temperature fluctuations. Exposure to toxic and hazardous chemical fumes. Exposure to random biohazard materials. Frequent interruptions during the shift. Smoke filled environment. Work independently and in a team. Frequent customer issues/confrontations and requests. Demanding fast-paced environment.
